 Are you fed up with asking the question 'How was school today?' and getting the response 'fine'?

Our new weekly blogs will give you more information about what your child is doing in school.  This will mean that you can ask meaningful questions to find out about their learning.

 

Week commencing 16/10/2017

FS1 children will be reading "Jack and The Beanstalk" and making a giant beanstalk using green hand prints.

FS2 will learn about teeth hygiene and take part in their Divali event.  In maths, the children will continue learning to recognise their numbers to 20 and begin to combine groups.

 

Week commencing 9/10/2017

This week, the children in nursery will be listening to the story of "The Gingerbread Man".  They will also be making and decorating gingerbread men.

Week commencing 02/10/2017

This week, children in nursery will be reading "The Giant Turnip".  They will be exploring different vegetables and making vegetable soup.  The children will also be going on a listening walk in the school grounds, identifying the different sounds they can hear.

FS2 children will be learning about their bodies and labelling body parts.  They will also continue with their number recognition.

 

Week commencing 25/09/2017

FS1 children will be listening to the story "The Little Red Hen".  The children will be learning how to help others and to recognise different feelings.  They will also be making bread, like the little red hen.

FS2 children will receive their homework files.

 

Week commencing 18/09/2017

FS1 children will be reading "Goldilocks and the Three Bears".  They will be making porridge and re-telling the story using props.

FS2 children will be introduced to letter sounds following RWI and also going on an Autumn walk.

Week commencing 11/09/2017

FS1 will be playing friendship games ni family groups and visiting the hall for music time.

FS2 will be introduced to numbers and begin to make marks in writing.
