If you are moving into Medway and would like a place at any Medway school please contact Medway's Student Services Operations Team or visit   http://www.medway.gov.uk/schoolsandeducation/applyforaschoolplace.aspx

We have 420 places in school and 60 part time places in the Nursery.

Medway Council funds five morning or afternoons sessions for all 3 and 4 year olds and children start fully funded full-time education in the September of the year (1 September - 31 August) they turn 5.

 

Our Admissions Policy for 2016/2017 follows Medway Council guidelines.

If we are over-subscribed the following criteria will be applied in the following order:

 

  • statemented children (where we are the named school)
  • children in care
  • a brother or sister is already in school
  • health considerations
  • multiple birth children
  • nearness to school

 

Please contact the School Office for an Application Form and to arrange a visit.  The Assistant Head Teacher meets every new family either personally or at a meeting arranged for all children joining our Foundation Stage.

 

Our priority is to ensure that your child settles happily into school.  We give your child (and you) the opportunity to become familiar with the school, its routines and show how you can help your child make the best of their learning

APPEALS for Year R – Academic Year 2017-2018

18th April 2017. The offer of a place in a school will be given.

17th May 2017.This is the date by which places must be accepted/refused. Also, this is the date by which an appeal for Year R for September 2017 must be handed in if you do not want a place in the school you have been given. Your appeal should state your reasons for this request. Additional information may be submitted later and full information regarding your appeal will be sent to you once the school receives your initial request in writing. 

You are asked to note that if the appeal is for Year R, (or any other year in KS1) that the school is bound by infant class legislation. This means that it against the law to have more than 30 children in any one class. This school has a PAN (Pupil
Admission Number) of 60 for Year R and it is likely that all the places will be allocated according to the school’s over-subscription criteria. However, the PAN may be divided in 3 groups meaning that a very small number of appeals may be upheld by the Independent Appeal Panel. 

Any appeasl for this school for Year R will be held in mid/late July 2017 but you are advised that there is only a small chance of success. 

In Years 1 and 2 any successful appeals are unlikely in order that the law regarding infant classes is not broken. Consequently, there are only limited conditions under which an appeal may be upheld. Very, very few appeals, if any,
are successful for Years 1 and 2 in this school because it cannot break the law and have more than 30 children in any one class. For the last few years no appeals for these two year groups have been successful at this school. 

It is advisable to place your child on the school’s waiting list alongside any appeal request. You are more likely to be given a place from the waiting list than through the appeal process. 

Any appeals lodged after 17th May for Reception/‘in-year’ casual admissions will be heard within 30 days of submitting the request.
