FAQ

What do I do if my child is late to school?

If your child arrives after their normal start time, they must enter school via the main office.  This is essential for fire safety and security as your child needs to be signed into the school and added to the register.

Can I park in the school car park when dropping my child off or collecting them?

We do not have facilities for parents to park in the school car park.  This is for staff and visitors only.  Please park on the surrounding streets, with due consideration for our neighbours and the safety of children walking to school. We have one allocated disabled space - if you need to access this please contact the office.

How do I pay for school lunches, clubs or trips?

The school uses a computerised management information system called Arbor, you will be sent a link to enable you log-on to your child’s pupil profile as soon as he or she is enrolled with us.  As we are a cashless school, all payments need to be made either via Arbor or via bank transfer.

If you would like to make a payment via Arbor for meals, trips  or B&A club, etc. you will need to follow the simple steps explained here.

What do I do if my child needs to take medication during the school day?

If you wish school staff to administer medication to your child during the school day, you must bring the medication - in a named bottle - to the main office and complete the necessary paperwork.  This will need to be signed and handed to the office staff who will ensure the medication is safely locked away and your child's teacher will be informed.

What do I do if my child has lost something?

All kinds of property is of course easier to reunite with it's owner if it has a name on it.  If you wish to purchase labels to put on your child's uniform (and lunch box, shoes, water bottles etc.) please use this link- purchasing from this website helps raise funds for our school.

Our lost property cupboard can be found in the main reception.  If the item is not there, please speak to your child's class teacher as it may have found its way back to the classroom - if it is named.  The lost property cupboard is emptied at the end of each term and any unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity.

Can my child cycle to school?

We encourage children to cycle or scoot to school. We have a small cycle / scooter shelter but all items are left at the owner's risk and school will not be liable for damage or theft. We recommend that cycles and scooters are secured with a lock and not left overnight.

Can my child bring toys to school?

We discourage children from bringing toys to school - unless the class teacher has specifically asked them to do so.  Please always check with the class teacher.

What is a "TAG" day?

A TAG day is a fund raising event, your child may wear their own clothes to school if they pay £1.00.  However TAG days are optional - so if your child prefers to wear school uniform that is fine too!  It should be noted that some children do get upset if all of their friends are in their own clothes - so please keep an eye on Mrs Mason's newsletter and our website so you can be prepared.  Thank you for your support.
